To make light dance, that was the first idea that the company Aysan s.r.o. suggested. They produce luxurious crystal chandeliers, mostly for the Arabic market. We wanted the spot image to radiate fragility, precision, luxury and beauty. We adapted the concept and prepared the detailed script. In order to do everything as perfectly as possible, we first created an animated mood board. Then we spent two days and nights shooting at a castle in Polish Zagani. We almost didn’t sleep but we don’t regret any single minute.
The constellation on the sky in the first take looks like a fairy jumping through a window.

We were shooting with a film camera Red Epic with 5K resolution and the frequency of 100 exposures per second. It was a good choice, it dealt with the light conditions impeccably. The stabilized gimbal DJI RONIN allowed stable movement, the focus was wireless and the aerial shots were made with Jamcopters.
The spot is based on many trick shots. We tried to shoot as much real material as possible, nevertheless we had to face lots of challenges on the spot and in postproduction – to exchange day for night or retouch a number of distracting elements.
An example of turning day into night. We adjusted the horizon, retouched the figures on the lawn and added the starry sky reflection on the water surface.

The hardest task was the light dust appearing on almost all the shots. The particles have their defined physical features. Gravitation, air resistance, dispersion, the bouncing off the floor, the interaction with the light – it all was important so that the „dust“ seems real and doesn’t disturb the viewer.
This take was shot at day, later in postproduction it was changed into night. Moonlight was added, too. In order to make it seem perfect, we had to add a missing door on the left side of the room.

The dancers Kateřina Nováčková and Adam Sojka from the National theatre in Brno contributed with their excellent performance. They tuned the choreography to the original music by a Canadian composer Pilotpriest to perfection.
